Embracing Matthew 5:9: The Power of Peacemaking

How do we receive the Blessing found in Matthew 5:9 ESV “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the house of God.”

Every Christian is in training. We do best when we have the mutual support of a trainer to guide us and encourage us. Jesus said it this way. Matthew 28:19 “. . . training them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

The Bible provides us with 26 commands describing the behaviors and attitudes of those who are in God’s family. They are often called the “one another” or reciprocal commands.

Print off the handout and get with two other Jesus followers. Study the passages and share what it looks and feels like when they are practiced and how it hurts and damages when they are not exercised with each other. Give the others permission to use any of the commands needed with you to help protect you from taking a wrong path and to help you look more like Jesus.
