What the Ukrainian Pastors want American Christians to Know

ASSISTING PASTORS’ FAMILIES IN UKRAINE WITH RENEWAL AND REST

JUNE 2025

We asked the Pastors and their wives what they wanted American Christians to know.

⭐The first desire shared by every person was “PRAY FOR US.  WE NEED TO KNOW OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN AMERICA ARE PRAYING AND THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE.”

PRAY CHILDREN CAN GROW UP WITH THEIR FATHERS.

On the road trip to the retreat, her husband was called back to the front lines by the army. She came with her first born on the train.

PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN LIVING WITH FREQUENT MISSILE AND DRONE ATTACKS AND SPENDING MANY NIGHTS IN SHELTERS.

PRAY FOR THESE CHURCH LEADERS AS THEY LEAD IN A STORM OF WAR.

• Helping 500,000 displaced people forced from their city with only what they can bring in their car.
• Children need education and help in processing the trauma and stress.
• Seeking to provide income through work and serve as pastors and church planters.
• A substantial stream of people wanting to know the hope of the Gospel and peace in facing the closeness of death.  Baptism of new believers and guiding people to discover God’s truth and grace, who can be disciples and disciple others.  THERE IS A SPIRITUAL HARVEST right now.
• Many harvest workers have left Ukraine with their families and are serving among the 1.5 million Ukrainians in refuge in other countries.  The cities are left with a vacuum of pastors and evangelists to reap the harvest in the country.

YOU CAN ALSO HELP FINANCIALLY.  PANDORA AND I HAVE “ADOPTED” A VERY EFFECTIVE DISCIPLE MAKING FAMILY WHO ARE CHURCH PLANTING AND ENGAGED IN VERY FRUITFUL OUTREACH.  

We are the Natalchenko family — Ilya, Karina, and our two children — Solomiya and Dan.

They had to evacuate Bakhmut when the Russians took it, and their home and most of the city were ground into rubble two years ago.

They are now church planting and directing several outreaches in Ternopil.  They are seeking to finish building a home before cold weather sets in.

I am praying for $6,000 USD to help them complete the interior, secure furnishings, and also assist with their outreach to the city. Rent is very challenging because of the high volume of displaced people from other cities under Russian occupation at present.
