Transitions can be challenging. There is saying, “Goodbye” to what we have known and then there is the need for courage to step out holding God’s hand to go on a new adventure. One of my mentors, Robertson McQuilkin, used to ask God for specific verses to anchor his faith steps when he went through major life changes. Here are the verses God has given me for our new chapter. Many days I hang my prayers on these passages.
Psalm 16:5-6 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. I HAVE PRAYED FOR YEARS THAT WE COULD LIVE A CHAPTER OF OUR LIFE ON THE BEACH…ESPECIALLY FOR MY WIFE. GOD HAS GIVEN US THIS GIFT!!
Psalm 96:1-3 Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! LIFE IS SHORT. DON’T WASTE ENERGY ON ANYTHING THAT IS NOT FOCUSED ON FULFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION.
Acts 18:9-10 And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” A GREAT PROMISE IS THE ASSURANCE HE IS WITH US AND HE IS ALREADY WORKING IN HEARTS BEFORE WE EVEN ARRIVE.
1 Cor 3:5-10 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. GOD GIVES THE GROWTH!!! OUR ROLE IS TO SIMPLY LISTEN AND THEN CARRY OUT THE ASSIGNMENTS HE GIVES US.
Isaiah 61:10-11 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations. GOD’S GREAT GRACE IN JESUS HAS BLESSED ME WITH HIM DRESSING ME AND ADORING ME.
These are great verses to hang on to!
